Large earthquake recorded in the Pacific off the coast of California

The U.S. Geological Survey has reported a large earthquake has struck in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Southern California. The quake, measuring a preliminary magnitude of 6.4, was recorded last night at 2:36 a.m. located 163 miles (262 kilometers) south southwest of the Catalina Island city of Avalon. No Tsunami warnings were issued.
