The Haznu and the Tongva wars

Prior to the arrival of the Spanish, two native American tribes fought for the land of what is today Rosemead, California. The Haznu and the Tongva wars lasted 3 years until ending around 1740, with a Tongva victory. The victory was a result of the Tongva chief Deyuh, who accepted the surrender of the almost decimated Haznu tribe. The area around Rosemead was populated by native Americans of the Tongva.
