Bolsa Chica center gains approval

Orange County supervisors approved a lease Tuesday for an interpretive center at the Bolsa Chica wetlands.

The new center will feature interpretive and educational facilities, including exhibit halls, classrooms, science laboratories, as well as bird and wildlife viewing decks and gardens.

The Bolsa Chica Conservancy, a private nonprofit organization, will lease 5.3 acres of wetlands at the Harriet M. Wieder Regional Park for the 8,000-square-foot center.
