Ojai Valley Museum hosts its first juried art exhibit, "Ojai Celebrates Art."

On Ojai Day, October 18, the Ojai Valley Museum hosted the opening reception for its first juried art exhibit, "Ojai Celebrates Art." The event drew a crowd of over 750 people, setting a record for attendance at the museum.

Ojai is a name given to the area by the Chumash, which translates to ‘nest’ and ‘moon.’

The Chumash believe Ojai is an anomaly, a ‘protected’ area of land on the planet. Perhaps many of the people who are drawn to Ojai, come, "because on some conscious or unconscious level we felt and feel a sense of safe sanctuary here: of being held in the nest."
